The sprawling city of Long Beach, NY sits East of the towering city known as the Big Apple. But it doesn’t sit in the shadow of any city when it comes to Big Heart. Especially the heart generated by its love for American veterans.

The Long Beach Waterfront Warriors have their welcome arms stretched as wide as the Long Beach boardwalk is long for America’s wounded warriors.

This week New York’s little City by the Sea’s Waterfront Warriors http://www.lbwaterfrontwarriors.org had our veterans flown from their treatment facility, Walter Reed Army Hospital in Maryland to Long Beach for a long weekend of hosted fun in the sun. Our war veterans were treated to dining, a NYC visit, surfing, fishing and a heartfelt parade.

But I’m sure the message of love we offer is the same expression of of every city, town, hamlet and crossroads from Long Beach, NY to Long Beach, CA. We all honor our wounded warriors and all veterans who serve to keep us safe and free.
